The Doberman Pinscher is a breed of working dog created by Karl Friedrich Louis Doberman at the end of the 19th century (1890 approximately). Karl was a tax collector, night watchman, dog catcher and the keeper of a dog pound in Apolda Germany. He had an obsession with guard dogs and wanted to create a dog that would have unequalled ferocity, bravery and intelligence. It is thought that he inbred a German Pinscher with the Rottweiler and it is also thought the German Shepherd and Manchester Terrier were possibly used.

Do all your grooming services require Appointments?

Yes, it is recommended that you call or email to setup an appointment. Some grooming services can take a few hours and some even longer, so appointments and scheduling is necessary. The following services listed below are normally Walk-in Services, but with the current Covid-19 restrictions, it is very likely that we will not be able to look after your grooming needs right away.

What is the FURminator® SHED-LESS Treatment® & undercoat remover ?

This is a simple 4-step process that reduces your pets shedding up to 90%. First we wet the pet’s coat and massage the FURminator deShedding Shampoo into the coat. Then it is rinsed thoroughly. Now we apply the FURminator deShedding Conditioner that helps loosen the undercoat. Once the dog is rinsed, we dry the pet with our high velocity dryer. The last step is to Extract the loose hair from the undercoat with the FURminator deShedding Tool.

Can I stay with my pet and watch the grooming process?

It really is not recommended. Pets will be calmer and are more cooperative for groomers when the owner are not present. We use sharp tools (scissors, clippers) around sensitive areas such as eyes, mouths, and sanitary areas and we need the dog’s full attention for their safety. In most cases with the owners presence, it makes the dogs generally too excited and anxious to go home and will not stay still to complete the grooming session.
How soon should I begin grooming my new puppy?

You can bring your new puppy in for its 1st Puppy Intro between 3- 4 months of age.

Puppy’s first few visits is always short and sweet! We just to cover basics such as bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, face trim/sanitary trimming and ear cleaning.

We encourage introducing your new puppy to the grooming world at an early age so they grow up learning that the grooming salon is a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable place to be. It also helps if you to play with your puppy’s feet at home and touch their faces often so they become less afraid in the salon.

Matting is a condition in your dog’s fur that is caused by dense tangles and knots. It’s a painful condition that can lead to other health concerns such as infections or skin irritations and can also mask other health issues or parasites. Mats cut off air flow in your dog’s hair and can trap moisture, which can cause irritation and sores on your dog skin.

If the matting on your dog is severe, the safest and most humane way to remove the mats would be to clip his hair short. The length of his hair will depend on how tight the mats are. We must be able to get the blade between the mats and the skin to remove them. If the mats aren’t too tight, sometimes we can get longer blades underneath the mats to salvage some length. However, if the mats are tight to the skin, we would need to use our shortest blade available to remove the mats. This would result in very short hair but would give you a fresh start and make your dog much more comfortable. This is often not the style that most owners would prefer, but is often the safest and most humane option for your dog if he is matted.
