Working Dogs
Toronto K9 Center understands the differences between a purpose-made working dog and a household pet. Working dogs are bred for their extreme drives in tracking, protection/guarding, herding, and other applications. Often, such dogs are brought into the home/family environment and are expected to serve merely as lovable companions. These dogs, having retained their energy for work, are often too much for the average pet owner to manage without the necessary knowledge and experience. High drive needs to be channeled and directed through exercise and discipline. At Toronto K9 Center, we provide dog owners with the tools to bring their dogs under control using proper communication, contact, reinforcement, and engagement.
Puppy Training
Early training is recommended. This will establish boundaries and limits, shape many behaviors that could otherwise become problems later in life, and create a mutual relationship for you and your pup to enjoy for a lifetime.
Obedience Dog Training
Training an older dog requires a different methodology. It sometimes requires teaching a dog with an attitude, the discipline and self control that was previously never asked or expected of it. This approach requires a change in the owner’s approach to dog psychology, and an introduction to a more balanced lifestyle.
